Teacher Appreciation Week: Breakfast Items Requested (May 5, AM)

Few other professions touch as many people as teachers do. During National Teacher Appreciation Week (May 5th - 9th), we will take time to honor our teachers and staff for their commitment, enthusiasm and hard work. Teacher Appreciation Week is an opportunity for our families to show our appreciation to our teachers and staff for all the effort they put into each and every day.

On Monday, May 5th from 7:00 - 8:00, we will host a special Teacher Appreciation Breakfast. This year, our breakfast buffet will feature some traditional choices and some healthy choices!

We are asking all C-Prep families to donate some food, drinks or paper goods
for this special event. Please.....

Click here to sign up to donate.

3rd - 5th Grade Testing Begins 4/21

Starting this coming Monday (April 21), the 3rd through 5th graders will be taking the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBAC).  The SBAC is replacing the CMT.  Testing will occur during the next 3 weeks - 2 weeks of testing and 1 week of make up tests.  This is the first year we are taking the test.  It is a field test - kind of like a practice test for the test makers.  By participating in the field test, we will get a better understanding of the new test, its format, and how the students work through it.  This will help us prepare for next year, when the test will be live.  I am unsure as to how any scores will be reported.

It is important to make sure your child eats breakfast every morning (at home or at school) and gets plenty of sleep each night.

If you have any questions, please let me know.  This is everyone’s first time taking/administering this test, so it will be a learning experience for every one.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Tally Those CAP Points - Bid on Prizes @ School Dance

Committed to Academic Promise (CAP POINTS) is the Capital Prep program that rewards our families for participating in activities outside of school. This is a key component of our school-home connection.

Lower School Families: keep count of the activities you do with and for your scholars and check totals with their child's advisor. All families should receive a final count from your advisor on a card and bring that with you to the Lower School Spring Dance. The prizes this school year are spectacular!

Note events you do outside of school that count (like museum outings, etc) are worth up to 20 points. Your advisor will tally the in-school events (from sign-in sheets), but remind your advisors about all the school events (including PTO meetings!) you attended throughout the 2013/2014 school year.
