We are currently accepting nominations for an additional PTO Board Director: Fundraising Coordinator.
Board members serve a two-year term, beginning and ending in June of each year. Most of the PTO’s work happens during the academic year. Board members must attend PTO meetings, Board meetings (1-2 each month on average), PTO-sponsored events, and be available to fulfill the positions of their office as needed. - Get to know other C-Prep parents and learn more about your child’s school.
- The PTO raises and spends money on behalf of students and teachers. As a Board member, you will shape these spending decisions.
- The PTO brings fun programming to enhance your child’s school experience beyond the classroom and engage the community that is Capital Prep
About the position: Board Fundraising Coordinator
- Oversees all PTO fundraising events. Functions as a chairperson for at least 2 fundraising events.
- Supervises and assists fundraiser chairs.
- Acts as liaison between PTO board and fundraiser committee chairs.
- Specific Duties:
- Schedule yearly fundraisers to avoid conflict and maximize volunteer resource
- Generate ideas for annual fundraising programs and review with PTO Board in regards to scheduling and anticipated earning
- Recruit and supervise the volunteer Chairperson of all other PTO fundraising efforts
- Provide updates to the PTO Board on how each fundraiser did financially. Give all monies earned for PTO fundraising events to the Treasurer for deposit. Request payment to vendors from the Treasurer following established procedure
- Provide updates on fundraisers events before and after to PTO Secretary.
- Attend all PTO meetings.

Candidates e-mail the PTO with your name, e-mail address and briefly describe your interest in serving on the PTO Board as well as your qualifications for the Board position in which you are willing to serve, in this case: Board Fundraising Coordinator.
All candidates for the open Board position should plan to attend the PTO Board meeting on 9/12/2013 and the General meeting on 9/19/2013 at 6:00pm.
Deadline for Nominations is Thursday, September 5, 2013.
The current PTO members hear short presentations from candidates and will vote on the new Board member at our General PTO meeting on 9/19/2013.
