There will be a free raffle of the acclaimed documentary Bully (2011) as well as the book Bully, a powerful companion to the film. Light refreshments will be served. If you would like to attend, please RSVP to Alberto Cifuentes, Jr., at jr_alberto.cifuentes@uconn.edu.
C-Prep Lower School Garden Club
Lower School’s Enrichment Program will include a Garden Club in the Spring/Fall 2014. The club will offer an opportunity for students in grades 2-5 to learn to grow and harvest their own food using the school’s outdoor garden beds. We are planning on growing a number of vegetables to harvest in the spring and other vegetables that we will harvest in the fall: Garden Plan. The produce may be used in the cafeteria and packed into the weekend back-pack program for families. We will also grow some flowers that the students will use to beautify the school grounds.
VOLUNTEERS - Parents / Families - NEEDED: Contact Alice Gold. We are looking for parents who would like to volunteer to assist during Enrichment period, which is 2:45-3:45 on Mondays and Thursdays. The spring club runs from the end of April until June break. The fall program, we believe, will run from September through November.
We also are looking for parents who would like to help tend the garden. Since there are no enrichment programs during the summer months, we need people at that time to help weed, make sure the garden is watered and fall crops are planted. We could also use assistance during the spring and fall to back up the children since the club will only meet two days a week.
DATE CHANGE - March 29 – Girls Just Want to Have Fun…Tween Talk!
Craft Day! Girls in grades 6th – 8th are invited to come out for our next session of Girls Tween Talk on Saturday, March 29, from 9-11 a.m. in the Sheff Center. We’ll talk about the importance of protecting your image, while having fun decorating t-shirts and making bracelets. To attend, please email lalaniperry@gmail.com.
Plan Ahead: Go Global!
JOIN CAPITAL PREP’S INTERNATIONAL TRAILBLAZERS as we blaze through Ecuador in March 2015. This trip is open to students who will be in grades 9-12 in the 2014-2015 school year. For more information, please contact Ms. Brooks or visit www.eftours.com/1517882NA
